Commercial Space Transportation Licensing Regulations

Abstract

The Associate Administrator for Commercial Space Transportation of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT) is amending the FAA's commercial space transportation licensing regulations. The FAA amends its licensing regulations in order to clarify its license application process generally, and for launches from federal launch ranges, specifically. The regulations are intended to provide applicants and licensees greater specificity and clarity regarding the scope of a license, and to codify and amend licensing requirements and criteria.

June 21, 1999. An application pending at the time of the effective date must conform to any new requirements of this rulemaking as of the effective date. All license terms and conditions, and all safety requirements of this rulemaking also apply as of the effective date.
