Box 3165 Harrisburg, PA 17105 RE: The tariff classification of “Oversized BBQ Grill Brush” from China. Dear Ms. Aldinger: In your letter dated December 22, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample which you submitted is being returned to you. You submitted a sample of the Oversized BBQ Grill Brush, identified as item #9004547. The item features a stainless steel scraper and a stainless steel brush attached to a plastic handle. It measures 19” long from the end of the handle to end of the scraper, with the head of the brush being 7” wide. Attached to the handle is a hook which can be used to hang the brush when not in use. The applicable subheading for the BBQ Grill Brush will be 9603.90.8050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Brooms, brushes…Other: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be 2.8% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
