Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of a cabinet door rack and a shower caddy from China Dear Ms. Marcoux: In your letter dated April 26, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The first item is the “Cabinet Door Clean-Up Organizer,” item number 50300, made of plastic coated iron. It measures 14 inches long by 11&1/4 inches wide by 3&1/4 inches deep. It fits over the cabinet door and holds a roll of paper towels and a bottle of cleaner. The second item is the “Over-the-Door Shower Caddy,” item number 29710, made of chrome-plated steel. It measures 24 inches long by 6 inches wide by 2&3/8 inches deep. It fits over a shower door and provides storage space on both sides of the door. Two outside hooks hold towels, etc. and three inside, removable baskets hold toiletries. The applicable subheading for the hanging racks will be 8302.50.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for base metal mountings, fittings and similar articles suitable for furniture, doors…hat-racks, hat pegs, brackets and similar fixtures, and parts thereof. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
