Facilitate the Development and Use of the Universal Licensing System in the Wireless Telecommunications Services

Abstract

In this document the Commission disposes of several petitions for reconsideration and clarifies its licensing rules into a single set of rules for all wireless radio services. The Commission further establishes a streamlined set of rules that minimizes filing requirements; eliminates redundant, inconsistent, or unnecessary submission requirements; and assures ongoing collection of reliable licensing and ownership data.

Action: Final rule.
Dates: Effective November 30, 1999, except for Secs. 22.529(c), 22.709(f), 22.803(c), and 22.929(d) which contain modified information collection requirements that have not been approved by the Office of Management and Budget. The Commission will publish a document announcing the effective date of these sections in the Federal Register. Written comments by the public on the modified information collections are due November 1, 1999. Written comments must be submitted by OMB on the information collections on or before November 30, 1999.
