Brunciak Interchem Corporation 120 Route 17 North Paramus, NJ 07652 RE: The tariff classification of Ropivacaine Hydrochloride Monohydrate (CAS No. 132112-35-7) in bulk powder form, from Belgium Dear Ms. Brunciak: In your letter dated December 2, 2020, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject product, Ropivacaine Hydrochloride Monohydrate, is a local anesthetic of the amide type with analgesic activity. It is indicated for the production of local or regional anesthesia for surgery and for acute pain management. The applicable subheading for the Ropivacaine Hydrochloride Monohydrate, imported in bulk powder form, will be 2933.39.4100, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Heterocyclic compounds with nitrogen hetero-atom(s) only: Compounds containing an unfused pyridine ring (whether or not hydrogenated) in the structure: Other: Other: Drugs: Other.” Pursuant to General Note 13, HTSUS, the rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
