Propafenone Hydrochloride, imported in 225 mg, 325 mg and 425 mg extended-release tablets, is in a class of medications called antiarrhythmics. It is indicated for the treatment of life threatening documented ventricular arrhythmias, such as sustained ventricular tachycardia. The applicable subheading for the Propafenone Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets in dosage form will be 3004.90.9220, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Medicaments … consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses … or in forms or packings for retail sale: Other: Other: Other: Cardiovascular medicaments.” The rate of duty will be free.
