Patterson, President Sourcetech LLC. 214 Fort Collier Road, Suite #1 Winchester, VA 22603 RE: The tariff classification of a steel kickstand assembly from China Dear Mr. Patterson: In your letter dated July 22, 2016 you requested a tariff classification ruling. The item under consideration has been identified a steel kickstand assembly, which is comprised of a mounting plate, tubular stand, spring and mounting hardware. You state that the kickstand is installed on the frame of a motor scooter, motorcycle, or other motorized cycle/vehicle for the purpose of supporting the vehicle when not in use. The steel kickstand assembly includes a five (5) inch long powder coated, carbon steel mounting plate and either a five (5) or six (6) inch long tubular stand, stainless steel spring and stainless steel mounting bolts and nuts. The applicable subheading for the kickstand assembly will be 8414.10.0050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Parts and accessories if vehicles of headings 8711 to 8713: Of motorcycles (including mopeds): Other”. The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
