N276560 July 12, 2016 CLA-2-63:OT:RR:NC:N3:349 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 6307.10.2030 Ms. Diana Malone Housewares International 6015 Randolph Street Commerce, California 90040 RE: The tariff classification of textile covered cleaning sponge from China Dear Ms. Malone: In your letter dated May 5, 2016, received by our office on June 13, 2016, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample, NatureZway™ Sponge (2-Pack), is a multi-purpose cleaning sponge. The item is comprised of a cellulose sponge that is covered on one side with a rayon woven pile fabric and the other side with a rayon non-woven fabric. The edges are finished with an overlock stitch and it measures approximately 3 x 4½ inches. The submitted packaging advertises the sponge as “ideal for kitchen and bathroom surfaces, stove top, dishes and more.” The applicable subheading for the NatureZway™ Sponge (2-Pack) will be 6307.10.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other made up articles, including dress patterns: floorcloths, dishcloths, dusters and similar cleaning cloths: Other…Other.” The duty rate will be 5.3 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
