Dear Ms. Rowe: In your letter dated May 6, 2016, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Seven samples of women’s knit ankle socks were submitted with your request. The samples will be returned under separate cover. Your letter describes the fiber content of the ankle socks as follows: Style SW623 is made up of 52% nylon, 47% combed cotton and 1% spandex. Style SW624 is made up of 50% combed cotton, 47% nylon and 3% spandex. Styles SW625, SW626 and SW627 are made up of 57% combed cotton, 41% nylon and 2% spandex. Style SW628 is made up of 55% combed cotton, 41% nylon and 2% spandex. Style SW629 is made up of 53% combed cotton, 45% nylon and 2% spandex. The applicable subheading for Style SW623 will be 6115.96.9020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTUS), which provides for pantyhose, tights, stockings, socks and other hosiery, including stockings for varicose veins, and footwear without applied soles, knitted or crocheted, other, of synthetic fibers, other, other. The rate of duty will be 14.6% ad valorem. The applicable subheading for Styles SW624, SW625, SW626, SW627, SW628, and SW629 will be 6115.95.9000, HTSUS, which provides for pantyhose, tights, stockings, socks and other hosiery, including stockings for varicose veins, and footwear without applied soles, knitted or crocheted, other, of cotton, other. The rate of duty will be 13.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
