Greenlee Steer Company 28 South 2nd Street Philadelphia, PA 19106 RE: The tariff classification of a travel case from China Dear Mr. Greenlee: In your letter dated January 28, 2014, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of PMN Sports LLC. You have submitted a sample, which is being returned to you. The sample you referred to as a “tool belt” is a generic travel case akin to a fanny pack. It is constructed of 100% cotton textile material that is not of pile or tufted construction. It is designed to provide storage, protection, portability, and organization to personal effects during travel. It attaches to a belt or similar article by hook-and-loop fasteners. It has three pouch pockets that are secured with one large flap closure. The applicable subheading for the travel case will be 4202.92.1500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for travel, sports, and similar bags, with outer surface of textile materials, of vegetable fibers and not of pile or tufted construction, of cotton. The rate of duty will be 6.3% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
