Virginia St. Suite 300 Milwaukee, WI 53204 RE: The tariff classification of Bergazid C1895, CAS No. 57-11-4 from India and Malaysia Dear Ms. Sandi Siegel: In your letter dated July 5, 2013, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client Berg & Schmidt America, LLC. Bergazid C1895, CAS No. 57-11-4, is a chemical compound composed of stearic acid. The product is used in industrial and technical applications. The applicable subheading for Bergazid C1895 will be 2915.70.0120, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids and their anhydrides, halides, peroxides and peroxyacids; their halogenated, sulfonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives: Palmitic acid, stearic acid, their salts and esters: Stearic acid. The rate of duty will be 5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
