Cazzaniga Aprilis, LLC 7460 SW 158th Terrace Palmetto Bay, FL 33157 RE: The tariff classification of aluminum extrusions from Turkey. Dear Mr. Cazzaniga: In your letter dated April 26, 2011 you requested a tariff classification ruling. Representative drawings were submitted with your request. The products to be imported are series 6000 aluminum alloy extrusions. These hollow and open profiles will be imported in lengths ranging from 5 to 38 feet and may or may not contain drill holes. Available mill finished, powder coated or anodized, the extrusions will ultimately be used in the manufacturing of windows, railings or patio enclosures. The applicable subheading for the hollow profiles will be 7604.21.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for aluminum bars, rods and profiles, of aluminum alloys, hollow profiles. The general rate of duty will be 1.5 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the open profiles will be 7604.29.1000, HTSUS, which provides for aluminum bars, rods and profiles, of aluminum alloys, other, other profiles. The general rate of duty will be 5 percent ad valorem. Articles classifiable under subheadings 7604.21.0000 and 7604.29.1000, HTSUS, which are products of Turkey may be entitled to duty free treatment under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) upon compliance with all applicable regulations. The GSP is subject to modification and periodic suspension, which may affect the status of your transaction at the time of entry for consumption or withdrawal from warehouse. To obtain current information on GSP, check our Web site at www.cbp.gov and search for the term “GSP”. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
