You submitted a sample designated as SKU #10050667, “Snap-Up 20 CD Box” (Black), for our examination. The two piece black CD storage box is constructed from 100% recycled paper and held together at the ends with screws and nuts. You state in your letter that the box will fold flat when not in use by removing the hardware that holds the two end pieces together. The box measures approximately 8-3/4” x 6” x 5-3/4”. The storage box has a removable lid trimmed in metal hardware and one metal bracket that can accommodate a label to identify the contents of the box. The storage box is designed for use in an office. The applicable subheading for the CD storage box will be 4819.60.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Box files, letter trays, storage boxes and similar articles, of a kind used in offices, shops or the like. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
