Tablets from India Dear Mr. Shah: In your letter dated February 11, 2009, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject product, Amiodarone Hydrochloride in 200 mg. Tablet form, is an antiarryhthmic agent indicated for the treatment and prophylaxis of frequently recurring ventricular fibrillation and hemodynamically unstable ventricular tachycardia. The applicable subheading for the Amiodarone Hydrochloride 200 mg. Tablets will be 3004.90.9120, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Medicaments … consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses … or in forms or packings for retail sale: Other: Other: Other: Cardiovascular medicaments.” The rate of duty will be free.
