Dear Ms. Lee: In your letter dated February 4, 2009, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, SPERIAN Protection Americas, Inc. The sample submitted will be returned. Style 2091722 “Electrosoft” glove is a seamless glove composed of 100% natural latex. The rubber gloves feature an extra long rolled cuff. You state that the gloves will be used for protection during electrical work. The applicable subheading for style 2091722 “Electrosoft” glove will be 4015.19.1050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Articles of apparel and clothing accessories (including gloves, mittens and mitts), for all purposes, of vulcanized rubber other than hard rubber: Gloves, mittens, and mitts: Other: Other: Seamless…Other. The rate of duty will be 3 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
