Box 1579 Paramus, New Jersey 07652-1579 RE: The tariff classification of Allyl chloroglyoxylate, CAS No. 74503-07-4, from France Dear Ms. Addabbo: In your letter dated October 7, 2008 you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject product, Allyl chloroglyoxylate, also known as Acetic acid, 2-chloro-2-oxo-, 2-propen-1-yl ester, is an ester of an acyclic polycarboxylic acid halide. Allyl chloroglyoxylate, imported in bulk, is indicated for use as a pharmaceutical intermediate. The applicable subheading for Allyl chloroglyoxylate will be 2917.19.7050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Acyclic polycarboxylic acids, their anhydrides, halides, peroxides, peroxyacids and their derivatives: Other: Other: Other… Other. The rate of duty will be 4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
