A sample of the floor box cover plate was submitted for our review. The product is identified in your letter as a circular brass duplex floor box cover plate (item number PS895). The item is designed to be used in industrial applications with an electrical box. The floor box cover plate measures approximately 5½ inches in diameter. The item has three drilled holes to allow the cover plate to be attached with screws to an electrical box in the floor. The cover plate features two flip lid covers to allow access to the electrical receptacle. A bag of four screws, a support plate and a gasket will be included with the cover plate. The sample will be returned as requested. The applicable subheading for the floor box cover plate will be 7419.99.5050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other articles of copper, other, other, other, other, other. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
