The subject product, Epirubicin Injection, is an anthracycline antibiotic belonging to a group of chemotherapy drugs. It is used in the treatment of early stage breast cancer and is typically used in combination with other drugs to prevent breast cancer cells from coming back or spreading to other parts of the body. The applicable subheading for the Epirubicin Injection in dosage form will be 3004.20.0060, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Medicaments …consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses (including those in the form of transdermal administration systems) or in forms or packings for retail sale: Containing other antibiotics: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be free.
