Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19112-1404 RE: The tariff classification of woman’s jackets from China Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated March 25, 2008, you requested a classification ruling on behalf of Sugartown Worldwide Inc. The submitted samples will be returned to you as requested. Style 68884 is a woman’s jacket constructed from 48 percent cotton, 28 percent ramie and 24 percent rayon woven fabric. The jacket is composed of more than six panels and features a round neckline, ¾ length sleeves, a full front opening secured by three snap closures beneath a placket, a self fabric belt with a bow that fastens by means of two hook and eye closures and a full lining. Style 68880 is a woman’s jacket constructed from 48 percent cotton, 28 percent ramie and 24 percent rayon woven fabric. The jacket features a round neckline, ¾ length sleeves, a full front opening secured by five snap closures, five decorative buttons at the front opening with a bow, an inverted pleat at the lower center back and a full lining. The applicable subheading for style 68884 will be 6204.32.2030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls’ suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, dresses, skirts, divided skirts, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts ( other than swimwear): suit-type jackets and blazers: of cotton” other: other: women’s. The duty rate will be 9.4 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for style 68880 will be 6211.42.0075, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for track suits, ski-suits and swimwear; other garments: other garments, women’s or girls’: of cotton: jackets and jacket-type garments excluded from heading 6202. The duty rate will be 8.1 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
