The subject product, Cephalexin is a medicinal preparation containing Cephalexin, a semisynthetic, broad-spectrum, cephalosporin antibiotic, as the active ingredient. It is indicated for the treatment of many different types of bacterial infections. The applicable subheading for the Cephalexin in dosage/tablet form will be 3004.20.0060, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for "Medicaments…consisting of mixed or unmixed products for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, put up in measured doses (including those in the form of transdermal administration systems) or in forms or packings for retail sale: Containing other antibiotics: Other: Other." The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
