The items concerned are referred to as electric motors (Model ZXM094016A, Model ZXM094010A and Model ZXM094050A). The motors will become part of Taco’s 1400 Series circulators. The motors are all brushless, single phase, AC motors with the following specifications: Model ZXM094016A: 216 Watts, 1.88 Amps, 1/6 horsepower and 115 volts Model ZXM094010A: 117 Watts, 1.02 Amps, 1/10 horsepower and 115 volts Model ZXM094050A: 492 Watts, 4.28 Amps, ½ horsepower and 115 volts The applicable subheading for the electric motors (Model ZXM094016A, Model ZXM094010A and Model ZXM094050A) will be 8501.40.4040, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Electric motors …: Other AC motors, single-phase: Of an output exceeding 74.6 W but not exceeding 735 W: Other”. The rate of duty will be 4%. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
