N017850 October 4, 2007 CLA-2-63:OT:RR:NC:N3:351 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 6307.90.9889 Mr. Dennis Alan Morse BDP International 2721 Walker Ave., NW Grand Rapids, MI 49544 RE: The tariff classification of a ground mat from Taiwan Dear Mr. Morse: In your letter dated Sept. 26, 2007, on behalf of Meijer Distribution, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample which you submitted is being returned as requested. You submitted a “Multi-Mat,” item #877405, UPC #041250027126, described as a multi-purpose ground mat. It is woven of polypropylene yarns and measures 60” x 78”. It folds to 15” x 10½” and has webbing handles attached. The packaging insert says that it is item no. 50325 and is an “ideal tent floor/sleeping bag insulator.” It is shown being used as a beach mat and picnic blanket, as well as a tent floor. The applicable subheading for the ground mat will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
