Davidson Import Assistant The Container Store 500 Freeport Pkwy Coppell, TX 75019 RE: The tariff classification of a Utility Cart from China. Dear Ms. Davidson: In your letter dated August 13, 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling. SKU number 10043585 is a multiple use utility cart. The base and arms of the cart are composed of ABS molded plastic. The four legs are made of aluminum and the casters are made of rubber and aluminum. There is a six inch deep drawer on the top of the unit and two shelves enclosed by a plastic door. The unit measures 18 inches wide by 13 inches deep by 24 inches high and is designed to stand on the floor. The applicable subheading for the utility cart will be 9403.70.8010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other furniture and parts thereof: Furniture of plastics: Other: Household.”. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
