Hoffacker Barthco Trade Consultants The Navy Yard 5101 South Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19112-1404 RE: The tariff classification of a youth unisex jacket from China. Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated August 1, 2007, on behalf of Broder Brothers, DBA Alpha Shirt Company, you requested a tariff classification ruling. As requested, the sample will be returned to you. The submitted sample, style M990Y is a youth unisex jacket constructed of polyester knit fleece fabric. The jacket features a standup collar, a full frontal opening with zipper closure, long sleeves with elasticized cuffs, front slash pockets and an elasticized bottom. The jacket reaches the waist. The applicable subheading for style M990Y will be 6102.30.2020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls’ overcoats, carcoats, capes, cloaks, anoraks, wind-breakers, and similar articles, knitted or crocheted, other than those of heading 6104: of man-made fibers: other: other, girls’. The rate of duty will be 28.2 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries.
