Davidson The Container Store 500 Freeport Pkwy Coppell, TX 75019 RE: The tariff classification of a mirrored wooden necklace keeper from China Dear Ms. Davidson: In your letter dated June 22, 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling. The product to be classified is a mirrored wooden necklace keeper, SKU # 10042924. Photographs of the product were submitted. It consists of a wooden accessory cabinet with a mirror in the front. It has hooks on the back for mounting on a wall. The cabinet measures 10” wide x 3” deep x 13” high. It is divided into three vertical sections that rotate. On one side of each section is a mirror and on the other side are 5 permanently mounted metal knobs on top and a 2” high storage compartment on the bottom. The product is designed to hold necklaces, bracelets and similar small articles. The mirror is an added feature. The applicable subheading for the mirrored wooden necklace keeper, SKU # 10042924, will be 4420.90.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for wooden articles of furniture not falling within chapter 94. The rate of duty will be 3.2 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
