Box 3165 Harrisburg, PA 17105 RE: The tariff classification of a sun shade from China Dear Ms. Aldinger: In your letter dated November 7, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample is identified as a “Triangle Sun Shade Sail” (Article Number PC-21000-01/ RA Item Number 947784). The item is a triangular-shaped 10’ x 10’ x 10’ sunshade. You state that it is useful as a UV screening shade. It has a stainless steel tri-link at each corner for hanging, but no rope is included. The sunshade is constructed of polyester mesh knit fabric with nylon webbing holding the tri-link. It comes packed in a clear plastic zippered carry bag. It is pictured fastened to trees in an outdoor setting. The applicable subheading for the sun shade and bag will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
