Airport Center, Suite 250 Jamaica, NY 11413 RE: The tariff classification of a cardigan for ladies’ wear from China Dear Ms. Beckford: In your letter dated June 19, 2006, written on behalf of H & M Hennes & Mauritz LP, you requested a classification ruling. Submitted style 623190/1616, manufactured from jersey fabric of 80% rayon/18% polyester/2% spandex, is basically characterized by long sleeves, a scoop neckline, and a full-front, buttoned opening. As you have requested, the sample garment and its accompanying component parts are being returned. Because of the lack of distinct lines of demarcation, the applicable subheading for this style will be 6110.30.3059, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweaters…and similar articles, knitted…, of man-made fibers, other, other, other, other, other, women’s…, other. The duty rate will be 32 per cent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
