Kent, WA 98032 RE: The tariff classification of a men’s sweater from India. Dear Ms. Day: In your letter dated April 10, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Shah Safari, Inc. As requested, your sample will be returned. Style M8226RD6 is a men’s sweater constructed from 100% cotton, jersey knit fabric that measures 6 stitches per two centimeters counted in the horizontal direction. Style M8226RD6 features a self-fabric stand-up collar with woven fabric edging; a full front opening with a zippered closure; six metal snap closures at the front opening; long, raglan sleeves with tubular knit cuffs; vertical welt pockets below the waist; and a rib knit bottom. The applicable subheading for Style M8226RD6 will be 6110.20.2010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, (HTSUS), which provides for: sweaters, pullovers, sweatshirts, waistcoats (vests) and similar articles, knitted or crocheted: of cotton: other: sweaters: men's. The rate of duty will be 16.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
