Dear Mr. Chivini: In your letter dated March 28, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling for 1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethyl Iodide which you have stated will be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. The applicable subheading will be 2903.49.9060, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for halogenated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons containing two or more different halogens: other: other. The rate of duty will be 3.7 percent ad valorem.          Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
