The subject product, Ethyl 3-oxo-3(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl) propionate, also known as Benzenepropanoic acid, 2,4,5-trifluoro-beta-oxo-, ethyl ester, is an aromatic carboxylic acid derivative with additional ketone function indicated for use as a pharmaceutical intermediate. The applicable subheading for Ethyl 3-oxo-3(2,4,5-trifluorophenyl) propionate will be 2918.30.2500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Carboxylic acids with aldehyde or ketone function but without other oxygen function, their anhydrides, halides, peroxides, peroxyacids and their derivatives: Aromatic: Other: Products described in additional U.S. note 3 to section VI. The rate of duty will be 6.5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
