Customs Compliance 1617 Sixth Avenue, Suite 1000 Seattle, WA 98101-1742 RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s dress from Macau Dear Mr. Hyland: In your letter dated March 23, 2006, you requested a classification ruling. Your sample is being returned as requested. The submitted sample, style BP117435, is a woman’s dress that is constructed from 95% rayon, 5% spandex knit fabric. The dress extends from the shoulder to the above the knee and features a V-shaped neckline, short sleeves with ribbed cuffs, and a hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for the dress will be 6104.44.2010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s dresses, knitted: of artificial fibers: other: women’s. The duty rate will be 14.9% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The dress falls within textile category designation 636. Quota and visa status are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
