Dear Mr. Chivini: In your letter dated November 30, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling for 3,5-Dimethylpiperidine which you have stated will be used as a pharma-ceutical intermediate. The applicable subheading will be 2933.39.6190, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for heterocyclic compounds with nitrogen hetero-atom(s) only: compounds containing an unfused pyridine ring (whether or not hydrogenated) in the structure: other. Pursuant to General Note 13 to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule this product is free of duty.   Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
