Customs Compliance Department 1617 Sixth Avenue Suite 1000 Seattle, WA 98101-1742 RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s shirt from Macau Dear Ms. Morgan-Lyon: In your letter dated August 31, 2005, you requested a classification ruling. The submitted sample will be returned to you as requested. Style BP109986 is a woman’s shirt constructed from 100 percent cotton woven fabric. The shirt features long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, a mandarin collar and a full front opening secured by five hook and eye closures. The shirt also has a placket on each side of the opening decorated with twelve buttons giving the garment a military look. The applicable subheading for the style BP109986 will be 6206.30.3040, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for women’s or girls’ blouses, shirts and shirt-blouses: of cotton: other: other: other: women’s. The duty rate will be 15.4 percent ad valorem. Style BP109986 falls within textile category designation 341.
