D/733IMP-D5/255B-A 3333 Beverly Road Hoffman Estates, IL 60179 RE: The tariff classification of toddlers’ wearing apparel from China Dear Ms. Bailey: In your letter dated June 21, 2005 you requested a classification ruling. Submitted style 4518 is comprised of two pieces. One of these pieces is a skirt, manufactured from woven fabric of 100% cotton that is ornamented by overlays. The other of the pieces, to be worn underneath the skirt, is an unlined, panty-styled garment, fully elasticized around the waistband and leg openings, manufactured from woven fabric of 100% cotton. As you have requested, the sample style is being returned. The applicable subheading for the skirt of this style will be 6204.52.2080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for …girls’…skirts…of cotton, other, other, girls’; and for the panty-like garment will be 6211.42.0081, HTS, which provides for …other garments…girls’, of cotton, other. The duty rates will be 8.2 and 8.1 per cent ad valorem, respectively. The skirt of this style falls within textile category designation 342 and the panty-like garment within 359.
