NY L83217 March 9, 2005 CLA-2-95:RR:NC:2:224 L83217 CATEGORY: Classification TARIFF NO.: 9504.40.0000 Mr. Ralph Saunders Deringer Logistics Consulting Group 1 Lincoln Boulevard, Suite 225 Rouses Point, NY 12979 RE: The tariff classification of playing cards and storage tin from Taiwan Dear Mr. Saunders: In your letter dated February 24, 2005, you requested a tariff classification ruling, on behalf of Car Freshner Corp., your client. You are requesting the tariff classification on a product that is described as playing cards that will be packaged and sold in a fitted metal container. There is no style number indicated for this item. The playing cards will be classified on the basis of GRI 1 and the storage tin will be considered packing, dutiable with its contents. The sample will be returned, as requested by your office. The applicable subheading for the playing cards in a storage tin (no style number shown) will be 9504.40.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for articles for arcade, table or parlor games…parts and accessories thereof: playing cards. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
