Dear Mr. Chivini: In your letter dated May 22, 2003, you requested a tariff classification ruling for 4-Isopropoxyphenol Boronic Acid which you have stated will be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate and will be packaged in bulk form. The applicable subheading will be 2931.00.3000, HTS, which provides for other organo-inorganic compounds: aromatic: other. The rate of duty will be 7.2 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
