R- (-)-1,2- Propanediol, CAS 4254-14-2, also known as R(-)-Propylene glycol, is a bulk chemical intermediate. The applicable subheading for R-(-)-1,2- Propanediol will be 2905.32.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Acyclic alcohols and their halogenated, sulfonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives: Diols: Propylene glycol (Propane-1,2-diol). The rate of duty will be 7.9 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
