Germantown Pike Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 RE: The tariff classification of a puppet theater from Cambodia Dear Ms. Klingbeil: In your letter dated May 10, 1999, received in this office on May 26, 1999, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted item is a puppet theater made of 100% nylon material for indoor use. The product is called the “Murmel Theater” number 200 115 78. It is designed for easy assembly via the insertion of both plastic and metal rods which are included in the package. The theater is enclosed with a flip up “door” in the back. It measures approximately 42” in height by 44” in width. The front of the structure resembles a stage with a window opening measuring 16” X 29”. Two nylon flaps drop down to cover the window while the children make preparations. When ready to perform, the flaps may be secured to the side with hook and loop fastener tabs. The applicable subheading for the “Murmel Theater” will be 9503.90.0045, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other toys: other: other toys and models. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
