Your sample will be returned to you as requested. The item submitted is a carpenter’s belt for organizing and separating out tools, featuring pockets and sleeves for tools of varying shapes and sizes. The sample provided measures 10” X 22” and has fabric ties for attaching to a bucket or tying around the waist. The carpenter’s belt will be made of cotton canvas, or man-made fiber fabric, or plastic sheeting. We do not have enough information to provide classification advice on the plastic sheeting version. Please provide a sample of this version for a separate ruling. The applicable subheading for the carpenter’s belt in cotton canvas or man-made fiber fabric will be 6307.90.9989, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other made up articles...Other. The rate of duty will be 7 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
