O Box 7250 Guayaquil, Ecuador RE: The tariff classification of annatto seeds from Ecuador Dear Mr. Arboleda: In your letter dated March 4, 1992, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The applicable HTS subheading for annatto seeds will be 1404.10.0020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for raw vegetable materials of a kind used primariluy in dyeing or tanning. The rate will be duty free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
