Dear Mr. Shah: In your letter dated January 3, 1992, you requested a tariff classification ruling for the following pigments: Product Color Index Name CAS# Yellow HRN Pigment Yellow 83 5567-15-7 Yellow 10GH Pigment Yellow 81 22094-93-5 Hansa Yellow G Pigment Yellow 1 2512-29-0 Hansa Yellow 10G Pigment Yellow 3 6486-23-3 Yellow GG Pigment Yellow 17 4531-49-1 The applicable subheading for Yellow HRN, Hansa Yellow G, Hansa Yellow 10G and Yellow GG will be 3204.17.5090, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other organic pigments. The rate of duty will be 20 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for Yellow 10 GH will be 3204.17.1090, HTS. The rate of duty will be 8.3 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
