Corboy Austin Chemical Company, Inc. 9655 West Bryn Mawr Avenue Rosemont, Il 60018-5299 RE: The tariff classification of Xylazine HCl Anhydrous [N-(2,6- Dimethylphenyl)-5,6-dihydro-4H-1,3-thiazine-2-amine, hydrochloride] in bulk form from Hungary Dear Mr. Corboy: In your letter dated August 13, 1991 you requested a tariff classification ruling. Xylazine HCl Anhydrous is an aromatic heterocyclic drug in bulk form which is used as a veterinary sedative and analgesic. The applicable subheading for the Xylazine HCl will be 2934.90.2500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other heterocyclic other aromatic other drugs. The rate of duty will be 6.9 percent ad valorem. Articles classifiable under subheading 2934.90.2500, HTS, which are products of Hungary are entitled to duty free treatment under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) upon compliance with all applicable regulations.
