Box 346, Alden Manor Branch Floral Park, N.Y. 11003 RE: The tariff classification of Footvax, a vaccine in vial form, from Ireland Dear Mr. Schraub: In your letter dated May 1, 1991 you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Pitman-Moore. Footvax contains ten strains of killed bacteria in a water- oil emulsion packaged in 1x50 and 1x100 dose vials for inoculations. It is used to treat and prevent footrot in sheep. The applicable subheading for the Footvox will be 3002.31.0000 Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for vaccines of microorganisms for veterinarian medicine against foot and mouth disease. The rate of duty will be free. This merchandise may be subject to the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
