Dear Mr. Shah: In your letter dated April 2, 1991, you requested a tariff classification ruling for the following dyes: Color Index Number CAS# Vat Green 3 3271-76-9 Vat Green 9 6369-65-9 Vat Black 16 1328-19-4 Vat Black 25 4395-53-3 Vat Black 27 2379-81-9 The applicable subheading for these five dyes will be 3204.15.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other vat dyes. The rate of duty will be 20 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
