Dear Mr. Liberati: In your letter dated March 10, 1989 you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Globe International Corp. of Philadelphia. The item is a zinc thumb latch knob used on furniture. The applicable subheading for the thumb latch knobs will be 8302.42.3000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other fittings of zinc for furniture. The rate of duty will be 5.7 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Section 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of this ruling letter should be attached to the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
