NY 817030 December 28, 1995 CLA-2-98:RR:NC:4:102 817030 CATEGORY: Classification Mr. Dave Walser Arthur J. Humphreys Div. Border Brokerage Co., Inc. P.O. Box 249 Sumas, Washington 98295 Dear Mr. Walser: In your letter dated November 16, 1995, on behalf of your client, Universal Machine Works, Inc., you requested a ruling on the tariff classification and status under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), of domestic and foreign made hydraulic cylinders reimported after repair from Canada. Please provide a description of the type of hydraulic cylinders involved in this transaction, as well as the nature of the repair work performed in Canada. We would also like to know the names and locations of both the U.S. and German original manufacturers. Please also advise us of whether or not this ruling request relates to an ongoing transaction between your client and one of the Customs ports. As provided for in Section 181.94 of the Customs Regulations (19 CFR 181.94), you may submit this additional information within 30 days of the date of this notice. Please address any supplemental letter to this office, and refer to our file number shown above. If you have any questions in regard to this matter, please contact National Import Specialist Karl J.
