No. 137-58-6), in bulk form, from Sweden Dear Mr. Hayward: In your letter dated September 30, 1994, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject product, Lidocaine Base, USP, is a topical anesthetic. The applicable subheading for the subject product will be 2924.29.3500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for: "Cyclic amides (including cyclic carbamates) and their derivatives; salts thereof: Other: Aromatic: Other: Drugs: Diethylaminoacetoxylidide (Lidocaine)." The rate of duty will be 10 percent ad valorem. This merchandise may be subject to the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration.
