Certain Structural Steel Beams From Germany, Japan, Korea, and Spain

The Commission hereby gives notice of the institution of an investigation and commencement of preliminary phase countervailing duty investigation No. 701-TA-401 (Preliminary) under section 703(a) of the Tariff Act of 1930 (19 U.S.C. 1671b(a)) (the Act) to determine whether there is a reasonable indication that an industry in the United States is materially injured or threatened with material injury, or the establishment of an industry in the United States is materially retarded, by reason of imports from the Republic of Korea of certain structural steel beams,<SUP>1</SUP> principally provided for in subheadings 7216.32.00 and 7216.33.00 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS),<SUP>2</SUP> that are alleged to be subsidized by the Government of the Republic of Korea. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
