The Department of Commerce (the Department) has suspended the countervailing duty investigation involving steel wire rod from Venezuela. The basis for the suspension is an agreement between the Department and the Government of Venezuela (GOV) wherein the GOV has agreed not to provide any export subsidies or import substitution subsidies on the subject merchandise and has agreed to restrict the volume of direct or indirect exports to the United States of subject merchandise from all Venezuelan producers/exporters in order to eliminate completely the injurious effects of exports of this merchandise to the United States.
