SUMMARY: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary special local regulation (SLR) for certain navigable waters of Lake Erie near Kelleys Island, OH. The SLR is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by a sailing race. This rulemaking prohibits persons and vessels from being in the regulated area during the enforcement period unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Detroit or their designated representative.
